Photos of people's wallets displayed on the outside of a building

These are public works indebted to the brilliant artist Felix Gonzalez-Torres. The images are of people’s real wallets and fake wallets I crafted myself. The wallet is a personal, transportable, item. It lives in people’s pockets. It warms up with their bodies (hence the wires in some of my creations). It contains some of their treasures, both ephemeral and practical. In the act of displaying these in a public location I want to evoke a possible point of real contact in that zone between people where their guard is up but they can still decide that they are able to flip open and exchange something with another human.
